English Sterling Silver Pill Box with Enamel Painting of a Dog

A fine sterling silver and enamel box with a hand painted scene of a black Scottish Terrier. Creamy white guilloche enamel has been hand painted with vibrant colors. The blue skies give way to the deeper blue water and the Scottie's fur is highlighted with accents of chocolate brown. Gilt wash on the interior. What Scottie lover would not love this piece? Perfect as a pill box or to add to a box collection.

The box is fully hallmarked with English silver hallmarks. Lion Passant for .925 silver, Anchor mark for Birmingham, maker's mark for Adie Brothers Ltd. and date letter E for 1929.

Measurements; 2 " diameter; ½" high

Condition; enamel painting excellent, minor surfaces scratches to the glass, tiny dings on the silver surrounding the enamel and several around the sides of the box; these have been taken into consideration with the pricing.
