A vintage silver and steel corkscrew in the form of a running fox. Very nice details on the body of the fox and face. An excellent gift for your favorite Fox Hunter or an addition to a bar ware collection.
The eyes of the fox most likely are rubies. f G. W. Lewis made fox corkscrews with ruby eyes; please note, I have not had the eyes tested. The corkscrew is in very good condition and does not appear to have been used very often. It was packed away for over 10 years and comes from a Southern estate collection.
English; hallmarks include, Lion passant for .925 silver, Anchor mark for the assay town of Birmingham, date letter “O” for 1938 and makers mark for G. W. Lewis & Co
Measurements; 3 ½” long and is 3 5/8” long
Condition Report; as noted above in very good condition
