Antique French Sterling Silver Timbale or Beaker, Ribbons and Roses

A beautiful French sterling silver timbale featuring an urn overflowing with roses along with a ribbon motif. Created during La Belle Époque (beautiful time or age) period of France which was between 1880 and the start of World War I. It was a period of time that offered peace in the region, optimism, and the flourishing of the Arts to name a few. On the reverse side of this fine cup is a matching cartouche without the urn leaving space for a monogram. These wonderful examples of French silver cups offer multiple uses from drinking to decorating with them.

French, hallmarked with the French Minerve mark for first standard .950 and maker’s punch is PB with a toothed wheel for the silversmith Pierre Bezo (circa 1913)

Measurements; 2 7/8” high and 2 ½” in diameter, 95 gram weight.

Condition Report; Very good, micro surface scratches in accordance with age and use. The bottom of the timbale has several small dings that can be seen when the cup is turned upside down, not really seen when cup is in upright position. Also a ding is seen inside the cup but is not seen or felt on the outside of the timbale.
