Antique French Sterling Silver Timbale, Monogrammed with CD 

A fine French sterling silver timbale or goblet with gold wash interior. Decorated in the Guilloché manner with a decorative cartouche inscribed with the initals “CD”.

Perfect for wine and Mint Juleps the silver cups are always an appreciated gift for wedding, birthdays, and anniversaries.

French sterling silver as denoted by the Minerve 1St Titre mark and it also bears the punch for Philippe Berthier,1841, Paris, his mark was“ a woodcock (the symbol)” surrounded by a P and B.  Philippe Berthier, was a well-known silversmith of the second Empire. He entered his first punch or mark in June 1, 1841.

Measurements; 3 1/8” high with a top diameter of 2 ¾”, 89 gram weight.

Condition Report; Very good, slight surface scuffing on bottom of cup which is normal for use and age
