A pair of Victorian urn shaped peppers with swags, rosette and beaded decoration. They are monogrammed with the letter "R.

English, sterling as denoted by the Lion Passant for .925 silver, assay town of Sheffield, date mark for 1886, and maker's mark for James Dixon and Sons. The lids are marked for Birmingham 1886 and Henry Matthews. The lids fit well and are appropriate for the style; however the do carry a different maker's mark from the body.

Measurements; 4 3/8" high, base is 1 1/4" square, 137 gram weight or 4.4 troy ounces

Condition Report; Good, no splits or dings noted. Minor surface scratches in accordance with age and use. Small amount of tarnish remains in the areas around decoration.
