A French sterling silver egg cup decorated with frieze of flowers and ribbons around the top. Classic and elegant design, the cup has a gilt wash interior and rests on a pedestal with stepped foot base.
This egg cup is not as heavy in weight as most egg cups I acquire which is reflected in the price.
Egg cups are such an elegant way to serve eggs.
French, C 1900, , marked with the French Minerve mark for first standard .950 (used after 1838) along with the maker’s punch which is being researched.
Measurements; 2 5/8” high and 1 ¾” in diameter.
