Collection: Menu & Placecard Holders

43 Chesapeake Court Antiqiues carries a fine collection antique sterling silver menu and placecard holders.   Menu holders were introduced during the Victorian period but reached their peak of popularity in the Edwardian period.  For the French it is referred to as the Belle Époque era.   Their original purpose was to hold a printed menu for diners.    I use the term menu holder interchangibly with placecare holder.    Also, you will find a selection of knife rests.  Together, knife rests, menu and placecard holders create an engaging table setting.
