19th C Antique French Sterling Silver Claret Jug or Decanter

Grand and glorious, this large French silver and crystal Claret jug stands a generous 12 ¼ inches high. The sterling silver mount is decorated in Rocco and floral motifs. The jug rests on a sterling silver round base. The fine crystal bowl has additional workmanship including a monogram on the front which appears to be “TC”. A large shell shaped thumb rest adds more detail to the hinged lid.

French Circa, 1895. French sterling silver as denoted by the Minerve 1st. Titre mark and the maker's punch or lozenge mark is for Auguste Claire, 1895.

Condition Report; very good, minor surface scratches and a very small ding on the base. All in accordance with age and use.

The jug will be double boxed and require a signature at delivery for insurance purposes
