Antique Amphora Vase, Turn Tepliz Austria

An antique Amphora Vase, Turn Tepliz, Austria,  The bisque pottery vase features putti and roses. The basket weave design vase has large sprays of roses spilling across the front and wrapping around the cherubs or putti. Their sweet child-like faces show attention to detail by the potter.  Both handles are in a basket weave design with a gilt wash. The top, middle, and bottom edge of the vase also have a gilt wash along with most of the roses.

Amphora refers to pieces of pottery produced between 1894 and 1904 in the Turn-Teplitz region of Bohemia during the Art Nouveau period.

Austrian Pottery, C 1900 The piece is marked for Imperial Amphora Works, Turn Tepliz, Austria, in a circle along with Amphora and Austria in oval marks, and a Crown mark.

Condition Report; Considering the age, size, and scale of the piece along with the large amount of rose petals the condition is overall good. There is a loss gilt wash in places, one wing of a cherub has been repaired, one rose has some damage, and a small flake near a handle on basket weave.
