Antique French Sterling Silver Timbale or Beaker, Engraved Farm Scene
A fine French sterling silver timbale or beaker engraved with a farm scene including a cow and young maid.
The timbale could be used for a child’s christening gift or for a cheese service. I have two cheese knives listed that have blades engraved with cows. All three were acquired on my recent buying trip to France. Together they would a bit of flair to a cheese service.
French sterling silver, C 1900 .950 silver as denoted by the Minerve 1St Titre mark and it also bears the punch for Charles Tirbour who registered his mark on January 8th 1897. His business operations was located at 8 rue des Haudriettes in Paris.
Please note this listing is for the timbale only; two cheese knives sold separately
