An antique cold painted inkwell featuring a small bird in a silver metal eggshell. The shell with cracked design is attached to an egg which opens to reveal the inkwell. The small bird was painted in shades of brown with gilt accents. Fine expressive details on the face of the bird.
The high quality bronze is marked on the bottom for Geschutzt, Circa 1900. The bronze is of the highest quality of Vienna Bronzes with superb modeling and expression. The bronze is possibly made by Bergmann.
Measurements; 3 ½” inches width and depth, 1 ½” high
Condition Report; Very good antique condition, some wear to paint, small dent in top of egg, small marks on both eggshell and egg.
