An antique French sterling tray, serving plate or charger from the house of ODIOT, Paris. The circular tray with deep well has a raised rim and Acanthus leaf details. Excellent weight and size; this tray measures 13 ½” in diameter and 33 troy ounces.

Fine French sterling silver as denoted by the Minerve Mark 1st standard for .950. The tray is also marked for Odiot with the Lamp mark and PR Cie. This mark was used between 1894 and 1906 and was used for the company formed by Gustave Odiot, Emile Provost and Paul Edouard Recipon.

The House of Odiot goes back many centuries with Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot registering his mark in 1797. The company is till in business; however, Gustave Odiot was the last member of the Odiot family to direct the company.

Overall the condition is excellent. There are light surface scratches in the center of the piece and a few small dimples and a light ding to inside rim. All in accordance with age and use for antique sterling. It has received a light polishing.
