An antique English sterling silver and gilt lined salt shaker or pepper pot made in 1829. This early 19th century, Georgian piece has a half-fluted design around the body and is raised on a round pedestal base with a crest or armorial. The top features gadrooned details.

English sterling silver; hallmarked with the Lion Passant for .925 silver guarantee, the crowned leopard's head for London, a duty mark of the king's or Monarch's head, a date letter of “O” for 1829. Maker’s Mark is worn but appears to be IJ, possibly John Jones III

Measurements; 4” high, base is 1 ½ “ high 91 grams

Condition Report; This piece is in excellent condition for its age. There is minor surface wear commensurate with age and use. The gilt lining is in very good condition. Base is slightly out of round.
