French Sterling Silver wine Stoppers, A Pair of Cork Bottle Stoppers
A pair of French sterling silver wine bottle stoppers. The pair are decorated with raised bead details along with Acanthus leaves. A most unusual pair for the collector.
French, marked for sterling silver of .950 content by the Minerve 1st standard punch. The maker’s mark is for Limousin & Souche, LS with the letter X in the middle, 76 rue des Archives, Paris (1905-1925)
Measurements: 3 3/8” high from top to bottom, silver top is 2” in length
Condition Report: Very good, minute surface scratches and some tarnish in the raised design. All in accordance with an item of this age and with use. Please note one cork is different from the other. The cork may have been replaced at some point. Each cork shows a bit of wear on the bottom ends. Both corks appear tight on the silver tops.
