Antique French Silver Large Serving Tray with Handles by Christofle, 28" X 18"
A large silver plated tray by the highly respected firm of Christofle. The tray is decorated with a raised border and Acanthus leaves wrapping around the wood handles.
Perfect for a tea service, cocktail tray or serving appetizers.
Christofle, officially opened in Paris in 1830, it was a partnership between Charles Christofle and his brother-in-law, Joseph Albert Bouilhet
French silver plate early 20th C, marked for Christofle and with their balance or scales stamp. The balance stamp is quite worn and only the scales can be clearly seen.
Measurements; 27” from handle to handle, 18” wide at the widest point
The tray is in good condition, plating is still bright, there are several scratches and a few dings on the tray. All in accordance with with age and use. These are hard to capture due to the reflectivity of the silver. The last two pictures have been darkened in an attempt to show the them.
