Antique French Silver Locket, Heart Shaped with Angel or Cherub Face C 1880

An antique French silver locket with an angel or cherub face. Beautifully worked in the Repousse manner and featuring fine scroll work and flowers. There is small center cartouche which is not monogrammed.

The locket just arrived this week from Paris along with other French treasures. The locket would look spectacular worn on a black silk cord, strands of pearls, or simply a silver chain.

French, C 1880, marked for .800 silver as denoted by the weevil hallmark.

Measurements: from top bale to bottom, 2 ¼” and width at widest point 1 ¼”, the depth is 5/8”. Weight 27 grams

Condition Report; Very good. I realized after listing several of the pictures show the locket slightly open. The locket does open and close easily. I had just not closed it tight when taking a few of the pictures.
