Antique French Sterling Silver of Lamb Cutlet Holders, ‘Manches à Cotelettes’

An antique set of French sterling silver lamb cutlet or bone holders for individual servings.  The clamp holds the bone while the diner holds the silver handle there by keeping one’s hands clean.   Pure French, pure luxury the holders take dining to another level.   They are decorated with shells and small flowers in the Louis XV style.  The six holders have a soft warm patina and are in very good condition.

They do come with their presentation box which offers protection and storage. 

French, C 1900  hallmarked the French Minerva No.1  which guarantees .950 purity of sterling silver.  Makers mark is still be research.
