Antique Sterling Silver Cheese Scoop by Gorham, Imperial Chrysanthemum Pattern

An antique Gorham sterling silver cheese scoop in the Imperial Chrysanthemum pattern. The design features chrysanthemums from buds to full open blooms. Acanthus leaves and shell motifs add to the overall pleasing pattern. A script monogrammed which appears to be "GC" is on the front of the scoop. Designed by William C. Codman who was originally from England. During his tenure as designer and President he took Gorham to the forefront of the silver industry.
