Antique Sterling Silver Collapsible Traveling Cup or Beaker, Gilt Interior
A fine sterling silver collapsible cup with a sterling case and gilt wash interior. These cups were devised for sporting events, picnics, and travel. A gentleman or lady would open the case and pull the cup up in a telescoping fashion. After use, the cup collapses back into itself and the top of the round sterling silver case closes to hold it securely in place. The top of the case has been monogrammed in script with three initials.
