Antique Flatware Storage Box, Cutlery Organization, English Mahogany Hand Painted

An antique English cutlery or flatware storage box with two hand-painted floral scenes. The dark mahogany box has two sides that lift for storage along with a brass handle. One side has been painted with a gathering of flowers. The other side bears perfectly balanced acanthus scrolls framing an acanthus leaf urn. The scrolls and urns are accented with similar flowers used on the other side. The muted colors are warm and restful.

Perfect for cutlery and a host of other items just waiting to be organized.

Measurements; top 17 1/2" X 12", bottom edges of box are 1/2" smaller than top, 3 3/4" in depth

Condition report; very good, some wear to corner edges along with wear in some areas of hand-painting, one scene has 3 areas where small scratches are evident and these are shown in the pictures. Some wear on corners. The felt has considerable wear. All are consistent with the age and use of this lovely box.
