A 19th c. French sterling silver mustard pot with cobalt blue liner and sterling mustard spoon. A superb example of Tetard’s work, the mustard pot rests of four decorative feet. Fine vertical columns alternate with Bell Flower and circular motifs. A large cartouche on either side of the pot features scroll and floral designs. The final and handle offer Acanthus leaf details.

The company was founded in 1880 by Edmond Tetard. It became Tétard Frères and is considered one of the important French silversmiths. Tetard won a gold medal in 1889 Edmond at the Exposition Universelle in Paris for his designs and quality.

The mustard spoon is simple in design and most likely not original to the mustard pot. It is in good condition with nice weight.

Measurements: sterling pot, 5” high X 3 7/8” from handle to handle, 176 gram weight or 5.6 troy ounces, spoon 3 7/8” long, 15 gram weight

Condition Report; pot and spoon are in very condition. The top of the has a small push where the decorative handle rests when the pot is open. To note, the blue cobalt liner has 2 small chips to the edge that have been filed smooth. These are not visible when inside the pot.
