French Sterling Silver Tea Service, Vermeil, 14 Pieces Late 19th C
An exceptional French silver and vermeil/gold wash tea service created by Henri Soufflet, late 19th Century. The set is comprised of twelve tea spoons, strainer, and tongs which are all monogrammed with the letters "BC" in script. The set displays beautifully in the original presentation box which also has been monogrammed on the top with the same initials. Each piece features shell motifs with interlacing leaves and the lovely script monogram.
Exceptional set for your collection or as a wedding/anniversary gift.
French, Circa 1895, marked for .950 silver as denoted by the Minerve 1st. titre mark and the maker's mark for Soufflet, Paris.
Measurements; spoons 5" long, tea strainer 5 3/4" long and 2 1/2" wide tongs are 4 7/8" long.
Condition report; very good, gilt very good, normal surface scratches and surface marks in accordance with age and use. Some wear to presentation box.
